A D-28 with unique specs is being released for Billy Strings - one of Bluegrass' biggest stars and it will be available at The Music Zoo!
How's this for breaking NAMM 2025 news?! We are beyond excited that one of our favorite guitarists is getting a signature Martin guitar! Inspired by Billy's prized 1940 D-28, Martin is bringing a modern twist to a classic pre-war design. The Billy Strings D-28 will feature a unique 25.5" scale length, slightly smaller for a reduced string tension that's perfect for fast-picked runs up the neck.
There will also be a slightly slimmer 1-23/32" nut width for increased comfort, too! Specs include solid East Indian rosewood for the back and sides, a bold herringbone top trim and nickel enclosed tuners. There will also be a X-Series version of the Billy Strings Signature D-28 that's a much more attainable price point - the Martin D-X2E Billy Strings Signature Acoustic Guitar.
